Proverbs 9

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

I reread many times and wasn't getting hit with much. I did take away that just simply having that belief in God and his ultimate power over all things even without/before understanding how that is possible is a starting point.  Then over time, like we do with our study of His word together, we improve our understanding and grown in his wisdom.

all that said i'm feeling low on understanding and wisdom in this moment. ha

  1. This works into my personal philosophy that we are designed to believe in something bigger than ourselves. I have this conversation with my boys....probably too frequently. They aren't on that path, right now. But, wisdom starts with understanding God is so great and vast that I can't understand him. Just because I can't fathom how it all works, doesn't make it untrue. In fact, I don't want a God that is small enough for me to get. I'm finite and small. I love the verse you picked out. It says everything! Our own happiness, satisfaction with life, wisdom.....all that good stuff starts with the concept of our Creator and his greatness.
    I love your take!
