1 Samuel 22

2 All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their commander. About four hundred men were with him.

As you often point out Todd, God often selects the meager to do great things.  Here we see a great leader and man of faith accepting people who are struggling with no questions willing and maybe even honored to lead them.  Looks like another characteristic to model in my own life if I want to be more God like.

  1. I gained some respect for David's character when he admitted that his actions were the cause of the massacre.

And how about Saul's state of mind......he's gone completely bonkers. He is completely infatuated with keeping his throne...and keeping it away from David. So much so, that he isn't acting like the King of Israel at all. His single focus is himself and how David could be a threat to him....and his plan.
