"To obey is better than sacrifice,
and to heed is better than the fat of rams."
Listen, and don't try to make own decisions about what God wants.
Our pastor was talking a couple of weeks ago, about a conversation he had with one of his really close friends.....he was having a hard time, and explained it to his friend in great detail. When he finished, he expected his friend to start talking....probably with some encouraging words. But, he was silent, and had an unusual look on his face. "what are you doing," he said......."I'm waiting to hear what God says".
Can you imagine is you practiced this in our lives? Saul lost his way, just as I do.....frequently.
STOP!, and LISTEN....if you ask, he will respond. I really believe that.
Today I did my reading and selected a subset of words from verse 22 to paste into my post today, but no need to do that since you selected the exact same subset! This re-enforced for me how important it is to do as you said, stop, listen and also obey. Obeying doesn't happen by chance, it requires that you engage in your relationship with God--I am aspiring to this tighter relationship so that I am always clear on what he wants me to do in my life.
