10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
I like the how this intro of Galatians sets up a bit of Paul's history, how he was changed by Gods grace. I like this verse too, it is a clear and simple reminder that I shouldn't worry about what people's opinions might be of me as long as I am focused on serving God. I don't think I go around trying to wins peoples approval, but by the same token I probably am careful not to do things that I think may turn them off or make them uncomfortable. Simple example, we pray out loud as a family before most meals but I'm unlikely to do the same in our office cafeteria--why?
for reference here is a site I when to to read a little on the origins of Galatians.

thats the same verse that struck me. Its a good measuring stick for how I'm living.
ReplyDeleteI like the website reference too. Its always good to get a little context to what we are reading...written by people that are schmarter than us.
